Day 1Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park You'll be picked up from the airport, hotel, or ferry terminal and driven to Mikumi National Park which is approximately a 5 hours and 30 minutes drive. You'll stop in Morogoro town for lunch and proceed to Mikumi National Park. On arrival in Mikumi National Park, you will start with an afternoon game drive. Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth–largest national park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. Within its 3230 sq km, it is set between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons zebras, leopards crocodiles, and many more just to mention a few. Your activities will concentrate along the great Ruaha River, Mwagusi Sand River, and Mdonya River. You'll have lunch in the middle of nowhere followed by more drive to the homes of buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, antelopes, colorful birds, and plants until 6.30 pm for the beautiful sunset in the East African Great Rift Valley. You'll enjoy your dinner and an overnight stay at Ruaha Cottage.
