Gorilla trekking

Day 6Gorilla trekking Gorilla trekking After breakfast, transfer to the park Headquarters in which you will be briefed about gorilla trekking. Bwindi National Park is renowned for its impressive mountain gorillas, although it is unpredictable for how long you will track before finding them since it all depends on their movement. You will set out with a packed lunch and enough drinking water, and you are advised to wear strong comfortable boots plus a light rain-jacket since the weather in Bwindi Impenetrable forest is highly unpredictable. Trekking takes about 1 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. When found, visitors are allowed to spend only one hour with the gorillas for the purpose of conservation. You will return to the lodge after for lunch. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhinos can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species. The swamps are shared by flocks of birds; green wood hoopoes, lovebirds, tallish herons, white-bellied go-away birds, and giant kingfishers.
