Day 1Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park We will pick you up from your hotel or the ferry and drive you to the SGR station for your train to the Morogoro region, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, our driver-guide will take you to Mikumi National Park for a late-morning game drive until lunch. After lunch, you will have time to relax before continuing with an afternoon to evening game drive. Your dinner and an overnight stay will be at Camp lilac Mikumi. Activities: Game drive. Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park
Day 2Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park You will be picked up from the hotel at 6:30 am. After breakfast, you will drive to Ruaha National Park, which will take approximately five hours. Lunch will be provided upon your arrival. You will begin your game drive in the afternoon, which will continue into the evening. The Great Ruaha River, the park's namesake, is essential for supporting its diverse wildlife. Although Ruaha is one of the largest national parks in Tanzania and boasts a rich variety of animals, it is also one of the least crowded destinations, making your safari experience feel remote and exclusive. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Tanapa Ruaha Bandas. Game Drive in Ruaha National Park
Day 3Game Drive in Ruaha National Park Game Drive in Ruaha National Park On this day, you will leave early at 6:30 am for a sunrise game drive, enjoying breakfast in the bush. After the breakfast break, the game drive will continue as you search for wildlife in various locations throughout the park. Be on the lookout for predators such as lions, cheetahs, and large packs of wild dogs, along with numerous other animals, until the lunch break. You will have a picnic lunch in the park where you can take some time to rest. After lunch, the game drive will resume until the evening. As you drive along the Great Ruaha River, you can expect to see a variety of animals, including buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, warthogs, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelopes, as well as different species of birds, plants and reptiles. After a full day of exploration, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 4Ruaha National Park to Camp lilac Mikumi Ruaha National Park to Camp lilac Mikumi You'll enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge in Ruaha National Park, then depart for Camp lilac Mikumi. You'll travel through scenic landscapes and lively villages, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant in Iringa town. You'll arrive at Camp lilacMikumi and check into your cozy bungalow or tent. You'll spend the afternoon relaxing with a swim in the pool or unwinding in the garden or lounge area with a drink. You can also take a short walk around the camp to explore the natural surroundings. In the evening, you'll visit a nearby Maasai Boma for an authentic cultural experience — meet the Maasai people, learn about their traditions, and enjoy traditional dances. You'll return to the camp for a delicious dinner featuring local and international dishes. You'll end your day with a cozy campfire experience under the stars, reflecting on your safari journey. You'll rest comfortably at Camp lilac Mikumi, ready for the adventures ahead. Udzungwa Mountains and Dar es Salaam
Day 5Udzungwa Mountains and Dar es Salaam Udzungwa Mountains and Dar es Salaam You'll enjoy an early breakfast at Camp lilac, then depart for a short 20-minute drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. You'll meet your ranger and begin an exciting hike through lush rainforest, spotting vibrant birdlife and rare primates like the Udzungwa red colobus and Sanje mangabey. You'll learn about the unique flora and fauna along the way. You'll reach the stunning Sanje Waterfalls, a 170-meter cascade offering breathtaking views of the Kilombero Valley. You will enjoy a packed picnic lunch near the falls, surrounded by nature’s beauty. After lunch, you will descend along a different trail, looking out for more wildlife. You'll return to the park entrance and drive back to Camp lilac for a brief rest. Later, you'll transfer to Morogoro town to catch the evening SGR train back to Dar es Salaam, ending your unforgettable Southern Circuit safari adventure.
