Nairobi - Old Moses
Day 1Nairobi - Old Moses Nairobi - Old Moses You'll be picked up from your hotel at 7:30 am. Later, you'll leave Nairobi at 8.30 am and transfer toNanyuki town. You will have lunch and begin transfer to Sirimon Park Gate (2,660m) the base of your Mt. Kenya trail. Here you meet with guides/porters and start your climb. After a 3-hour walk, you will head to Old Moses Camp (3,300m) on the edge of the mountainous forest where you will spend the night. Main Destination: Mount Kenya Accommodation: Judmaier Campsite Budget mountain hut located on Mt Kenya Meals & Drinks: Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included) Drinks not included
Old Moses - Shiptons Camp
Day 2Old Moses - Shiptons Camp Old Moses - Shiptons Camp You'll leave the camp at 8.30 am and continue your hike through the moorland characterized by many varieties of Seneca and lobelia to Shiptons Camp (4,200m). Lunch will be taken on the way. The 14km hike takes about 6 hours. Your overnight stay will be at Shiptons Camp just below the 3 majestic peaks—Batian, Nelion, and Lenana. Shipton - Point Lenana - Meru Bandas
Day 3Shipton - Point Lenana - Meru Bandas Shipton - Point Lenana - Meru Bandas After an early morning breakfast at 4.00 am, the trek leads via a steep scree to Simba Cole and on through rocky terrain to Point Lenana. After summit photos, you will descend again to Simba Cole and continue to Mintos Hut (4,200m). Here you have a lunch break, before passing along a ridge overlooking Gorge Valley and Lake Michaelson. In the late afternoon, you will reach your destination for the day—a fly camp at the road head at 3,300m. Dinner and overnight at Meru Bandas. Main Destination: Point Lenana (Mt Kenya) Accommodation: Budget camping Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Meru Bandas - Nairobi
Day 4Meru Bandas - Nairobi Meru Bandas - Nairobi You'll descend Meru Mt. Kenya Bandas at 3,000m. On your short 2-hour hike you may encounter a buffalo, klipspringer, zebra, and sometimes an elephant. At the bandas, 4×4 vehicles will be waiting to drive you through a dense bamboo forest on slippery roads to Chogoria. Here you will meet your driver, have lunch before bidding the crew farewell, and proceed to Nairobi. You'll be dropped off at your hotel.
