Depending on your time of arrival, there is an option to go to Mabamba Swamp for a unique shoebill stork tour (half day with transport). This trip includes a boat ride on Lake Victoria, followed by 1-1.5 hours of viewing of shoebill and lunch in the nearby Nkima Lodge. Day 2Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Murchison Falls NP- Nyamsika Camp Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Murchison Falls NP- Nyamsika Camp You'll drive through the Buganda toward the drier plains of Nakasongola and the tall jungle trees of Budongo, the largest forest reserve in Uganda. You'll first see the chimpanzees (2-hour activity) midday and proceed to our private bush camp in the northern part of Murchison Falls in the evening, where you'll enjoy a stunning sunset and sundowner. Here, you'll begin your exquisite private wildlife safari. You'll stay in our private camp with no other tourists around. Our exclusive mobile camp offers spacious tents with full-size mattresses. Amenities include gazebos, dining areas, hammocks, a mini library, and a bush bar. We provide toilets, showers, and wash basins, with a dedicated team to meet guest needs. Day 3Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls NP - Nyamsika Camp Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls NP - Nyamsika Camp You'll go on an early morning walk exploring the Nyamsika area (2.5-4 hours) with plentiful wildlife and stunning scenery, with a dry riverbed snaking through the savannah, Borassus, and acacia woodlands. This will be followed by lunch and midday rest. In the afternoon, you'll continue exploring the vast plains around the Nile delta with a bounty of wildlife. You'll return to Nyamsika to enjoy a sunset and views with a sundowner. Day 4Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls NP - Pendero Camp Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls NP - Pendero Camp After another walk in the morning, you'll embark on an exciting boat ride to the bottom of the falls while seeing plenty of elephants, giraffes, crocs, hippos, and other animals, and the shores. Then it is time for a brisk 45-minute walk through the river jungle to the top of these powerful falls. After lunch break, you'll return to our 2nd private camp at Pendero or Tangi for rest. There's an evening option for a shorter walk or a game drive, depending on your desire. The road trip today leads relatively flat western Acholi to the dramatic mountains of the Karamoja northeast, leaving behind the southern jungles. Optional stops include beautiful Aruu Falls. Alternatively, this landscape offers a variety of other hiking opportunities. Mt. Morungole (2,750 asl) towers over the plains and is home to an isolated Ik tribe. An easier hike (but stunning views) is to venture up Mt. Lomei, separating the two park valleys. The area offers a unique opportunity to witness the culture of the local Dodoth people. An optional activity is stopping in one of the largest traditional villages in East Africa: Nakapelimoru, the home of the nomadic Jie tribe of Karamojong people. Day 10Sipi Falls, Mt Elgon Sipi Falls, Mt Elgon Setting off from Moroto early, you will be at our destination at lunchtime, enjoying a tasty local lunch. You still pass wide open plains of Pian Upe, seeing some wildlife (such as ostrich) and an imposing Mt. Qadam (3,000 m) over it. In the afternoon, you'll stretch your legs and hike to explore Sipi Falls. These are three picturesque falls at the base of Mt. Elgon in the heart of small villages and coffee farms, where you can learn all about growing and making coffee.
