Itinerary
Nairobi to Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp
Day 1Nairobi to Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp Nairobi to Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp At 6:30 am, you'll be picked up from the hotel/airport/pickup point, then depart for Nanyuki Town which takes about 3 hours. On arrival, have a short break then finalize with the crew and purchase groceries and consumables. Thereafter, proceed to the Sirimon Gate, this normally takes about 1 hour. On arrival at the gate, have lunch and formalize the entry process and pay the park fees as required by the park authority. After the process and lunch, the trekking starts right from the gate. You'll walk through the rain forest for 9km (3-4 hrs walk) to the first mountain hut, Old Moses Camp, altitude 3300m, for dinner and your overnight stay. Shiptons camp
Day 2Shiptons camp Shiptons camp At 6:30 am have an early morning breakfast, then re-arrange your bags and ascend the Sirimon Track, Climb out of the North Valley and into the Mackinders Valley, one of the broadest valleys on the Mountain, with good views of the main peaks. Have a brief stopover for a picnic lunch along the valley on top of the cliff. After lunch, we will have 3 hours to ascend to Shipton Camp just below the main peak of Batian and Nelion. It normally takes 7-8 hours to get to the Shipton Camp. On arrival, you will find your cup of hot coffee or tea is ready as our crews always go ahead to make sure the services are provided on time always. Shipton Camp - Acclimatization
Day 3Shipton Camp - Acclimatization Shipton Camp - Acclimatization After refreshments, have a short walk for acclimatization, spend the day doing leisure treks around the peaks and preparation for the summit, then descend to the camp as you wait for the dinner to be served. Dinner and your overnight stay are in Shipton Camp, 4200m. The weather at this camp sometimes may go below 10 degrees Celsius. Shipton Camp – Point Lenana
Day 4Shipton Camp – Point Lenana Shipton Camp – Point Lenana Early morning wake up call at 3.30am, we attempt point Lenana (4985M) at dawn to catch early sunrise. The trek is approx 4 hours. We descend down, approx time 3hrs, for breakfast, then further down to road. Head Camp lunch is served in between the trek approx time 41/2 hrs. Then down further to bandas camp approx time 2 1/2hrs. Dinner, overnight and rest at the bandas. Chogoria - Nairobi
Day 5Chogoria - Nairobi Chogoria - Nairobi Early morning breakfast at 7:00 Am, then from there we trek down 15km through the forest for pick up by village land rover then drive further to Chogoria town further 15km for transfer back to Nairobi.
