Day 1Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve (265 km – 5 to 6 hrs) Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve (265 km – 5 to 6 hrs) Your safari will begin with a morning pick-up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi, and you will then travel to the Masai Mara. A visit to the Masai Mara is the highlight of every trip to Kenya. Beautiful scenery stretches in every direction, with an abundance of wildlife (including the Big Five). Between July and October, the great migration takes place as millions of wildebeest and zebra cross into the Masai Mara in search of fresh grazing, closely followed by lions, leopards, and other predators. In the late afternoon, around 17:00, you will set out on an evening game drive. This is one of the best times to witness wildlife activity, as many animals emerge in the cooler hours of the day. You may catch predators preparing for their nightly hunts, elephants moving toward watering holes, and breathtaking views of the African sunset. When the day is done, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
