Day 2Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park On Day 2, you will wake up early for a hearty breakfast before heading to the Muhabura/Ntebeko Ranger Station, the starting point of your gorilla trekking adventure. Here, a senior ranger will give a briefing on the dos and don’ts of interacting with the gorillas. After the briefing, you’ll begin your hike into the forest in search of one of the park’s gorilla families. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you locate them, you will be allowed to spend an hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Watching them interact and care for one another is an incredible experience that will leave you in awe. After your time with the gorillas, you will return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest and a comfortable overnight stay. After a briefing, you will embark on a hike through the forest in search of the endangered golden monkeys. These primates are smaller than gorillas but are equally captivating to observe. Their playful nature and social behavior make them an exciting species to track. Following the golden monkey trek, you will return to your vehicle and begin the journey back to Kigali, Rwanda. Your 3-day adventure concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Kigali or the Kigali airport, depending on your travel plans.
